New Beginnings Program     >>click to learn more

The New Beginnings Program works in partnership with individuals, families and communities to provide services that supports First Nations women and their families. This program is designed to empower families in accessing services.   The Enhanced Canadian Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP) is a prevention and intervention program that support prenatal and postnatal mothers in having healthy babies.  Our FASD program, the Circle of Life is designed to empower all women in their child bearing years in making healthier lifestyle choices and decreasing the number of babies born prenatally exposed to alcohol.  This program promotes early diagnosis for children that parents suspect may be affected by prenatal alcohol exposure.  Seeking a diagnosis can be a complex, time and families are often in need of support.

The Circle of Life Program will advocate for families from the being of this process to long after the diagnosis, if needed.  Our approach is to have Home Visitors who understand, and support families in developing and maintaining healthy lifestyle choices connecting them with a natural wrap around support system as well as community services.  The Home Visiting program also advocates for families that have children with social and learning needs that may not be related to FASD.  The New Beginnings program collaborates with the Holistic Wellness, Healthy Living, and the Community Wellness and Protection Programs. This allows us to provide healthy seamless services for all the communities we serve.
